2018 BRA/CTC Course for all new ACU Road Race Licence Applicants, Pembrey

As part of the ACU’s ongoing policy of rider development and education, and in line with requirements as laid down in the 2016 ACU Handbook, all first time applicants for a Road Race Licence must undergo a Classroom Training Course (CTC) & Basic Riding Ability assessment (BRA). Applicants whose licences have lapsed for more than five years must also complete the course and assessment. (Lapsed licence holders who previously held a full Clubman or above licence may only have to sit the CTC element, contact Nino for confirmation.)

The purpose of the classroom course is to ensure that you understand the basic safety and organisational requirements to participate in road racing.

Before any new licence can be issued, you must satisfactorily attend the course and pass the multiple-choice test.

In addition to the CTC all new applicants for a Road Race Licence must undergo a Basic Rider Ability assessment to show you have the ability to ride a motorcycle.

To take part in this course you must have the use of a motorcycle, and a full set of protective clothing including one piece leathers, a helmet bearing an ACU gold stamp, suitable boots and gloves. You can ride any motorcycle for the Basic Riding Ability assessment; it does not have to be a Racing Motorcycle. The motorcycle should be road worthy and should not have any race numbers showing during the test.

The ACU Training Course and Basic Rider Assessment course is organised by NG and and held at Pembrey Circuit in Carmarthenshire, on the following dates:

Saturday 3 March / Sunday 4 March
